A Jordan Christmas.... 1985 vs. 2009

Time for us and Nike to get into the Christmas spirit. Nike always really knew how to draw interest in the AJ line right from the start, and as we can see still does a great job at it today.

December 2009.
Nike's Lebron and Kobe puppets are the best thing I've seen since the Penny campaign and the Spike and Mars campaign. Great Idea and mad funny.

December 1985.
A young MJ vs. Santa in Air Jordans was the big talk in december 1985, if you look closely at MJ he is wearing the special make up version of the 85 AJI you can almost see its cut lower in the ankle unlike the released version that went on sale.

On that note here is a little Christmas gift for myself.........

1985 Air Jordan I TYPS Player Sample, Autographed.
(low cut ankle support and tumbled leather.)

In honor of Mike.

Lebron James announced yesterday that he will change his number at the end of the year in honor of Michael Jordan. He states that no one in the NBA should wear the #23 again.
Thank you Lebron!

Now that's the way it should forever be remembered!

TOP 3

These are my Top 3 Air Jordans of all time. Each pair to me has a ton of history behind it.
I'm sure many people have different opinions on which model they like best, but I bet at least 1 of these is in your top 3.

1. 1985 Air Jordan I (black toe)
2. 1988 Air Jordan III (black/cement grey)
3. 1996 Air Jordan XI (concord)

The Thrill of the HUNT!!!

I wanted to share with you guys my recent pick up. I have been chasing or shall I say hunting this pair in complete perfect condition since day 1 of me collecting.
As we all know this pair was the first ever color way produced of an Air Jordan model, so for me this is where it all started. This pair has a certain mystique about it, as from the information gathered on it is that it was made in very small quantities or limited numbers and that it was scraped after that for the general release colors we have come to know......The 1985 Air Jordan I in Red/White/Black

A.K.A THE BLACK TOES!!!!

Fuel for Air Jordan

Sometimes I just sit around and look at random MJ stuff, always looking for rare finds and cool stuff. Well, Today I found this Mcdonalds commercial that ran in 1984-85. What's extremely rare about this one is Michael is wearing the original make up of the Air Jordan I (prototype) the Black Toe version, but if you look closely you will see that it has an all black tongue which would mean that this pair probably has no wings logo and "AIR JORDAN" in text on the collar. This shoe is super rare as we all know the limited production model that released has the white tongue with the wings logo on the collar. What some people would do to own this pair! AMAZING!

Inside Nike Campus (behind the swoosh)

A behind the scenes look at the Air Jordan display that is inside the walls at Nike Campus. I'm amazed at the condition of all these, the AJ II,III,IV are pristine for being over 20 years old. Every pair in this display is an original Jordan and is signed by the man himself. Pictures courtsey of "Ambulacralgruve"

Weekly Watchers

The shoe game is real slow as of late not much to really see aside from retro after retro and 1,000 different colorways of overdone retros, but every once in a while something decent will pop up on ebay. This week a few nice pairs were up heres my favorites. (all auctions have ended)

Carmelo Anthony Player Exclusive (game worn)
really nice looking pair, the color combo looks great together.

The early years....

1983 Michael Jordan's First Sports Illustrated Cover...
The first of his fifty-six cover appearances came on the November 28, 1983 issue, as MJ led the NC Tarheels' to dominance of the NCAA with his friend and teammate Sam Perkins.

Michael Jordans first shoe of choice....

This particular pair has been game worn and dual signed. What makes it even more special is the very rare signing of the #23, which MJ rarely ever did. This pair was auctioned off in 2005 and went for about 5k! I have never seen another since!
